Classic 4×4 is pleased to present a refurbished and modified 1972 GMC 2500 4×4

This ¾ ton truck is exceptionally clean and rust free. The exterior is finished in matte moss green with matte white accents and the interior is dark olive with white accents. It is powered by an 8 cylinder engine, 4 speed manual transmission and dual range transfer case. It stops smoothly with 4 wheel power disc brakes and steers effortlessly with power steering.

General Motors introduced the second generation of C/K trucks for the 1967 model year through 1972. The GMC C/K was an upmarket version of the Chevrolet C/K. Designated the “Action Line” generation by General Motors, the C/K largely carried over its drop-center ladder frame, but the body was redesigned from the ground up to improve its capability as a multi-purpose vehicle.

This truck reportedly started its life as a C2500 and was fitted with a K20 frame, SkyJacker lift and converted to four wheel drive under prior ownership. It was acquired out of Colorado and relocated to Texas by the current owner in 2021. Subsequently, it went through a comprehensive cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. The body and frame were refinished, the interior, engine and transmission were refurbished and the transfer case and axles were replaced.

The exterior presents itself nicely, finished in matte moss green with matte white accents, a reclaimed barnwood bed floor and chrome bumpers. It underwent an extensive cosmetic refurbishment, including stripping and refinishing the bed and tailgate, refinishing the cab, frame and axles, adding a custom reclaimed barn wood bed floor, new chrome bumpers and replacing the door seals.

The interior presents itself well, finished in dark olive metallic with white door cards, visors and glove box and chrome dash and door accents. The original bench is finished with a durable woven grey and green one piece cover accented by tan seatbelts. The interior refurbishment included recovering the bench seat, adding new 3 point seatbelts, replacing the transmission tunnel to accommodate the replaced transfer case and installing Silles Hybrid sound, heat and vibration dampening matting covered by a new black rubber flooring kit.

The truck is powered by a GM 5.7L 350ci V8 engine with a Carter Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor paired to a Muncie SM465 4 speed manual transmission mated to a New Process 205 transfer case. Power is sent to the wheels through custom Mesquite driveshafts into a Dana 60 front axle with Mile Marker manual locking hubs and a GM 14 bolt 10.5” rear axle. The current owner replaced the transfer case, driveshafts and axles and believes the engine and transmission were replaced under prior ownership. Both axles were rebuilt and regeared to 3.73 with Torq Lockers for optimal on road speeds and off road capabilities. The engine was refurbished under current ownership with new Comp Cam lifters and push rods, valve stem seals, valve cover gaskets, fluids, filters, spark plugs, alternator, voltage regulator, battery, PCV valve, radiator hoses, radiator cap and thermostat. In addition, the transmission received a new transfer case adapter, clutch, clutch linkage rod and was resealed.

The truck stops quickly with the addition of 4 wheel power disc brakes installed under current ownership. It steers smoothly with power steering and new tie rod ends. The 4” SkyJacker suspension lift with Hydro7000 shocks rides comfortably and gives clearance for the 315/75 RBP Repulsor M/T tires wrapped around white 16 inch steel wheels.

There are no known mechanical flaws, as the truck runs, drives, rides, shifts, steers and stops well. The only known cosmetic imperfections are normal wear and tear. The lights, gauges and heat are functional. The odometer shows 24,638 miles, but the true mileage is unknown. It has a clean and clear Texas title in the current owner’s name and comes with two sets of keys.
